With the crane ready preparation began on the new Intellian VSAT antennas for lifting to the main mast and continuing with through-ship cable installation. Removing inspection hatches on the upper main mast and opening sealed bulkhead cable ways into the wheelhouse. Installing new VSAT antennas, and removing remaining two F55 antennas. Modifying existing mounts and installing new antennas, positioning base plates for 4G antennas and completing through-ship cable runs. Replacing all internal overheads, external inspection of access plates and starting to terminate coaxial cables. Removing all old and redundant hardware to the storage area, terminating cables into the wheelhouse and completing the equipment rack and labels. Finishing all cable terminations and sweep testing all coaxial cables for possible issues. Conducting a frequency sweep of all 4G coaxial cable sets and GX cables prior to handover. Finally, following a successful handover, service reports and network and IT documentation together with cable and routing drawings were completed by the engineering team, ensuring that the crew and our own support teams have constant visual reference on the system should any future technical assistance be required.
