We were pleased to work closely with the crew and management on M/Y Arbema recently, ensuring their summer refit, carried out in the South of France, went to plan and that their communications upgrade delivered the required results. Each installation is very different, and each presents its unique set of challenges, so we wanted to share some of the process to highlight just what goes into making such a project happen. Days 1 & 2 Preparation on any job like this is key, so a big part of day 1 was spent assessing the order of work required, checking hardware deliveries, any potential pitfalls and ensuring there were plenty of questions asked and decisions made. Key steps included decommissioning SeaTel VSAT and SeaTel TVRO antennas, plus radome with antennas. Removing all coaxial cables, isolating mains power feeds, and making redundant antennas ready for lifting. Identifying and decommissioning all SeaTel and associated Ku hardware from below deck equipment, including redundant cables and PSU hardware.
