Caribbean Slows as the Mediterranean Grows…
Posted: Jun 17, 2020
It’s that time of year again and, despite the challenging times faced by all, normal service is gradually but cautiously being resumed. Following a busy winter season which kicked off with a very successful Antigua show, we’ve watched from our offices in Antigua and St Maarten as things have gradually become quieter, the dockside less busy and the Caribbean eases back into a more natural pace of life. The photos below, taken from our new Antigua office dockside at the Antigua Yacht Club Marina Falmouth Harbor, tell the story. And while the boats have continued to make the Atlantic crossings to Europe, or head North for the US coastal waters, we’ve been busy with final client installations and also supporting the Antigua Yacht Club Marina with their new dockside client connectivity services for next season. The pandemic statistics in the Caribbean generally reflect a situation that is now well under control and, as with most European countries things are beginning to fully reopen, albeit with various safety measures still being adhered to. Early indications are that the industry is ready and keen to make the most of a shortened but hectic summer season in the Med, no doubt followed by another busy season in the Caribbean sun. We’d like to thank all clients for their continued support throughout this unusual winter period, and wish all a safe and successful summer season ahead.
