The Axxess Marine Charity Ride was a Roaring Success

Posted: Sep 23, 2019
Axxess Marine hosted its third annual Charity Ride in Monaco Saturday morning. The event brought together participants from the maritime industry; Superyacht Captains, Owners, Crew, and professionals who tackled a beautiful route along the Cote D’Azur and returned to StarsNBars to celebrate.

“The event attracted riders of all skill levels again this year” said Kym Petrie, Axxess Marine Chief Marketing Officer, “The route was designed to challenge a seasoned participant while still making the ride accessible to those who haven’t had a lot of time to spend on their bikes during the busy Med season. The views along the way are simply spectacular.”

The Axxess Marine Charity Ride is focused on connecting participants through the sport of cycling, emphasizing a group ride/peloton approach rather than racing and competition. Funds raised in this year's event go to the Amber Foundation. Formula 1 Icon Eddie Jordan lead the group out from StarsNBars early in the morning and spoke passionately about the important work the charity does for homeless youth during the lunch party.  Axxess Marine and ACREW joined forces this year to raise funds for the charity, proceeds from which will enable deserving young persons to complete STCW courses.

The official cheque will be presented to The Amber Foundation at the 2019 Crew Awards Ceremony, 12th October, Le Palais de la Méditerranée, Nice. More about the 2019 Crew Awards by ACREW Yachting can be found here.

“The Axxess Marine Charity Ride is about camaraderie, it’s as simple as that, “ stated Ms. Petrie, “and if the smiles and high fives are any indication, the event was a roaring success.”

The Axxess Marine Charity Ride takes place each September in tandem with the Monaco Yacht Show.  Passionate cyclists and enthusiasts are urged to mark their calendars for our fourth annual event, scheduled for Saturday September 19, 2020. The Monaco Yacht show takes place September 23-26, 2020.
