A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

They say ‘a picture is worth a thousand words’…well, in our experience we’d definitely have to agree. The process of designing and delivering a high quality communications and connectivity solution to any maritime vessel is both complex and costly. So, right from the start a great deal of focus goes on specifying the most appropriate hardware and ensuring that the services that crew and guests require are matched to their specific needs. Hardware has to be ordered, sometimes customized, and then shipped to a global location. Skilled technicians and engineers need to work closely with the engineering crew and captains, as well as shipyards, to ensure the installation happens on time and within budget. Detailed provisioning then takes place, making sure that the appropriate cellular or satellite services are active and ready to use, so that the vessel can plan for the season ahead. However, no matter how smoothly an installation goes, there will always be one constant...change. So, to ensure that whatever is thrown at a system doesn’t prevent our team from providing first class client support, or recommending and installing upgrades, we always carefully map out the entire installation and securely store it on our client portal. It’s there to provide instant detail to the crew, and for us to know exactly how it looked when we worked on it, and to highlight changes that need to be examined first. Sure, we could take a photo, ping it to another device and hope for the best, but we think going the extra mile is worth it, and a whole lot easier if you have a road map to follow.
