Axxess Marine Charity Ride is a Smashing Success

Posted: Sep 23, 2018
Axxess Marine hosted the second annual Charity Ride in Monaco Saturday morning. The sold-out event brought together participants from the marine industry; Captains, Owners, Crew, and Service Providers, who tackled a beautiful 53 kilometre route along the Cote D’Azur and returned to StarsNBars to celebrate.

“The event attracted riders of all skill levels this year” said Kym Petrie, Axxess Marine Chief Marketing Officer, “The route was designed to challenge a seasoned participant while still making the ride accessible to those who haven’t had a lot of time to spend on their bikes during the busy Med season. The views along the way are simply spectacular.”

2018 marked the launch of the Ride Concierge service through which participants can rent top of line road bikes and gear for the day. The ride boasts a full support crew, ride coaches and captains as well as a team of videographers to catch every moment. “We want to make it easy for the participants to just ride, relax and connect and our sponsors and event partners have helped us make that happen.”

The Axxess Marine Charity Ride is focused on connecting participants through the sport of cycling, emphasizing a group ride/peloton approach rather than racing and competition.  Funds raised go to Sister Regina Primary School in St Maarten, a passion project for the Axxess Marine team since the primary school was completely devastated by Hurricane Irma in 2017.

Charity Ride event sponsor Speedcast made the draw for a road bike from Spoc Velo (value 3000 euro) and celebratory cocktails were served by OWC Fine Wines and L’Orangerie Liqueur de Monaco. AxxessGO personal WIFI devices with SIM-Zero technology were awarded in three ride categories.

“The Axxess Marine Charity Ride is about camaraderie, it’s as simple as that, “ stated Ms. Petrie, “and if the smiles and high fives are any indication, the event was a roaring success.”

The Axxess Marine Charity Ride takes place each September in tandem with the Monaco Yacht Show.  Passionate cyclists and enthusiasts are urged to mark their calendars for third annual event, tentatively scheduled for Saturday September 21, 2019.
