Not long ago I wrote about looking back on the Yachting season 2016-2017, and some of the things that the Axxess Marine team was most grateful for. I realized not long after posting the piece that I hadn’t added the one (incredibly important) thing that always makes my heart happy—connecting with my team.
While that may sound strange to hear from someone who is in constant (and I mean constant) communication with her colleagues on a daily basis, taking time to connect about things not work related can be a challenge. It’s a common problem for many companies, but thankfully its something that the Axxess Marine leadership has always made a priority.
As pretty passionate cycling fans, we launched the first annual Axxess Marine Invitational Cycling event on September 26th 2017 (second annual event is scheduled for September 22, 2018- but more on that later) While the event raised a good chunk of money for charity and gave our team the opportunity to connect with great people in person (always fantastic!) It also gave way to more internal dialogue about health and fitness at Axxess Marine. Our excitement for the success of the event took the conversations to the next level, further enforcing the culture laid in the early years of the company: Work harder than everyone else. Be smart. Be innovative and fearless, but be real. Be kind. Live fully and take time to appreciate the people you work with.
